Borderway Store Cattle Sale

STORE CATTLE – On Wednesday 5^th June Harrison & Hetherington held their weekly sale of 433 store cattle which included the Special June section of Continental x yearlings.  All cattle sold well with young heifers in particular a flying trade.  Topping the sale at £2300 was a fantastic British Blue x heifer from Todd Farming, Market Rasen who also sold another 2 at £2120 and completed the set by topping the bullocks at £1860.  Charolais bullocks sold to £1800 (x3) from Messrs Fisher, Lairdlaugh, Castle Douglas.   Natives topped at £1700 for Angus bullocks from Messrs Slack, Cockley Bank and £1700 for Aberdeen Angus x heifers from Messrs Storey, Tinnishall.   Dairy bullocks to £1500 for Fleckvieh from Messrs Crichton, Limekilns.  With the vast majority of cattle under 12 months today, a bullock average of £1379.44 and heifer average of £1312.77 shows an excellent days trading.
