Borderway Store Cattle Sale

STORE CATTLE – On Wednesday 19th June Harrison & Hetherington held their weekly sale of 224 store cattle.  All classes of cattle met a great demand with trade taking another leap on the week producing a sale average of £1400.87.

Sale topper today at £1840 was a great Limousin x bullock from Messrs Holliday & Graham, Bolton Wood Lane, Wigton.  Native bullocks sold to £1760 for Beef Shorthorns from Messrs Dobson, West End, Allonby.
Dairy bred Blues to £1820 from Messrs Watson, Howrigg, Wigton.   Dairy sorts to £1580 for Fleckvieh from Messrs Moscrop, Ryeclose who also sold a pen of 5 Friesians at £1560.  Heifers peaked at £1820 for an Angus from Messrs Grieve, Whiteside,  Hexham with young heifers to £1700 for a beautiful 15 month  Limousin from Messrs Thomlinson, Standingstonerigg.
