Borderway Weaned Cattle Sale

On Wednesday, 10th July Harrison & Hetherington held their weekly sale of Weaned cattle.  Trade was off the rails as carriages full of cattle come from far and wide to the biggest station around.  Bulls top at £1620 from Messrs Goldie, Newbie Mains for a 12 month old Simmental.  British Blue bulls topped at £1550 for a 13 month old from Messrs Burrow, Lodges Farm.  Ten month old Limousins sell to £1500 from Messrs Taylor, Birch Bush.  13 month old Limousin heifers sell to £1420 from Messrs Knox, Cragside.  British Blue heifers sell to £1410 from Messrs Thompson of High Hall Farm.  Charolais heifers sell to £1370 from Messrs Routledge, Netherton, who also sold bullocks to £1350 as did Messrs Cooper, Crailloch.

The dispersal sale of cows and calves on behalf of Messrs Hastings, Lochwood also felt the Ring 4 buzz with a packed ringside throughout.  Limousin sold to £2200, Aberdeen Angus to £1880 and Herefords to £1880.  30 Cows and calves averaged £1550.
