JODIE LEADS SUMMER SENSATION SALE FOR VETECH

The VeTech Summer Sensation Sale had an impressive group of young cows and heifers in milk, in-calf, bulling and heifer calves, in this sale for the Veitch family who farm at Strandhead Farm, Ayrshire. The herd has developed some great pedigrees in recent years and these prominent cow families were highly sought after.

In total 177 animals changed hands with the top price of 3200gns being paid for VeTech Logistics Jodie. This December 2023-born heifer is sired by Cookiecutter Logistics and backed by 10 generations of dams scored Very Good or Excellent, her dam VeTech Rager Jodie VG85 (2yr). She was purchased online by the Logan family for their Holehouse herd, in North Ayrshire.

Leading trade for the milkers was VeTech Pepper Geometrix 2 VG86 (3yr), fresh in January and guaranteed back in-calf to sexed Blondin Dragon, she sold for 3000gns to Neil Sloan for the Knoweside herd, Auchinleck. She is bred from six generations of Very Good and Excellent dams, from the same family as the All-Canadian Mature Cow, Penlow Georgette Outside EX96-2E. 

Also making 3000gns was Vetech Remembrance Kim 3, a December 2023-born VeTech Rememberance daughter from the Kim family that has bred well at VeTech. She sold to the Gray family for their Grayridge herd, East Kilbride.

Next best was the September 2023-born Vetech Brady Ghostie 3 ET, one of several impressive members of the Ghost family to sell. She is bred from 7 generations of Excellent dams and sold to Messrs Forshaw, Alston, Preston.
