Borderway Calf Sale

Harrison and Hetherington held their weekly sale of calves with a nice entry of 276 forward on a great harvest day which  was met with a plethora of buyers from all corners of the country. Topping todays trade was a British Blue x bull calf at 2 months of age topping at £780. Limousins were in high demand topping at £650 from SI &  PH Bowes, Harbarrow and this home also topped the Angus section at £555.  Charolais topped at £485 from Messrs Kirkpatrick, Howthat, this home also topped the Simmentals at £520 and Herefords at £535. Friesians topped at £295 from Messrs Blamire, Mid Whinnow and Ayrshires were up to £230 from Messrs Baynes, Marleycoates, Hexham.

Heifers again meeting a pleasing trade topping at £605 from Messrs Bowes, Harbarrow for a strong British Blue heifer and this home topped the Limousin section at £585. Aberdeen Angus topped at £550 twice for strong heifers from Messrs Callandar,  Blaiket Mains.
