Kirkby Stephen Opening Sale of Store Lambs

Harrison & Hetherington Ltd held their Opening sale of store lambs on Tuesday evening. 

The sale topped at £124 for a pen of twelve long term keep Beltex cross lambs from Messrs Bayles, Haithwaite, Barningham. This home also sold a pen of fourteen Texel lambs to make £117.

Cheviot lambs sold to £110.50 from Messrs Borrowdale, Beckfoot.

Messrs Thompson, East Unthank Farm, Haltwhistle sold a pen of Mule lambs to £100.

A fantastic sale average of £94.25 was achieved which taking into account the entire entry of store lambs we long keep and included a large proportion of Mule and Lleyn x Swaledale lambs.

A packed ringside of potential buyers from near and far were present here at Kirkby Stephen which resulted in all classes, sizes and breeds of store lambs being a fantastic trade with many buyers leaving empty handed and many more store lambs can be sold to great advantage here at Kirkby Stephen!
