MIDDLE AYRSHIRES HAVE A FLYING TRADE AT BORDERWAY

KING MARTY DAUGHTER TOPS AT 3,900GNS

The Whiteford family from Middle Farm near Brampton sold an outstanding group of cows from their impressive Ayrshire and Red & White herd.  Years of expertise and astute breeding decisions was clearly evident when buyers from across the UK packed the ringside at Borderway.  They were uniform with exceptional rumps and strong toplines, the strength of the feet and legs was at a high level and the quality of the udders was amazing.  

Ayrshire breeders from England, Scotland and Wales attended the sale both in person and online.  Buyers were recorded from nineteen counties with most selling for more than two thousand pounds with the overall average coming to £2125 per life with a special second calver topping at 3,900gns 

Middle Jean KM 2 was the top price seller at 3.900gns.  She was sired by Whiteflat King Marty who is a son of Changue Martha EX95 who was a three time UK Dairy Expo Champion.  This special young cow was classified VG86 as a three-year-old, and was purchased by the Bryson family from Whiteflat farm in Ayrshire the breeders of King Marty.   

Lot 107 - Middle Jean KM 2 VG86 sold for top price at 3900gns

Selling for 3,300gns was Middle Marigold who was purchased by the Danforth family from North Yorkshire.  Marigold was sired by Middle Ellard and was bred from an Excellent dam.  She was classified Very Good 87 as a three year old and was bred back to Troutbeck Show Stopper for next Spring.  

Lot 166 - Middle Marigold VG87 sold for 3300gns

Many of the young cows and heifers had been classified Very Good and Middle Jean MH was one of the these impressive young cows selling for 3,100gns to Mr Pryce from North Wales.  She was sired by Middle Hero and was bred from an Excellent dam with massive production, her third dam was an Excellent 93 pointed cow that produced over 80 ton lifetime.

Lot 115 - Middle Jean MH VG85 sold for 3100gns

The sale started with a special daughter of Troutbeck Show Stopper who sold for 3,000gns, Middle Princess TSS has recently calved with her second two weeks prior to the sale and displayed enormous potential.  She was bought by the Logan family from Holehouse Farm in Ayrshire.
