Lockerbie Store Cattle Sale

On Tuesday 9^th March Harrison & Hetherington held their fortnightly sale of store cattle at Lockerbie Auction Mart.

‘They say that Lightning doesn’t strike twice but the thunderous trade continues at Lockerbie’.

A fantastic show of cattle was met from buyers far and wide. An 8 month old bullock sold to 314ppk for a Limousin from Messrs Robson, Laverockhall with another at 294ppk from the same home. Ten month old Charolais bullocks sold to 289ppk for a pen of four from Macgregor, Relief Farm, who had another pen of three at 287ppk. Nine month old heifers sold to 304ppk form Messrs Wright, Hunthills for a Limousin, and Messrs Duncanson, Marchbank received 279ppk for on at the same age.

Bullocks topped at £1340 for an Aberdeen Angus from Messrs Johnston, Logan Mains. Aberdeen Angus to £1300 for a 16 month old from Messrs Glendinning, Newfield, and Limousin up to £1235 from Messrs Wilson, Belzies.

Heifers sold to £1290 again from Messrs Johnston, Logan Mains for a pen of four British Blues. Limousin heifers topped at £1250 from Messrs Sloan, Hunterhouse.
