Borderway Calf Sale

On Wednesday 14^th of August, Harrison and Hetherington held their weekly sale of 315 calves which saw a good entry well bid for topping at £670 twice firstly for a tremendous British Blue bull from JH Errington, Lowther Low Moor and then for another shapely British Blue from Richard Wilson, Broomberry, Ayr.  Heifers topped at £550 for an Aberdeen Angus from David J Kincaid, Slacks Farm, Lochmaben.  Limousin bulls sold to £610 from T S Byerley & Sons, Birtley Shields, Wark.  Richard Wilson, Broomberry sold a 3 month old beef bred Shorthorn bull to £590.  Fleckvieh bulls topped at £590 from Slacks Farm, Lochmaben who also topped the Angus bull section at £585 for a 3 month old.  Reay Farming sold a pair of 2 month British Blue bulls to £520.  Hereford bulls sold to £420 from W Messenger, The Howes.  First time consignor H M Paton & Co, Torr Farm, Auchencairn sold a 1 month Belted Galloway x bull calves to £290 and a pen of 6, 1 month Belted Galloway heifers to £270.  T W Martin, Tempest Tower sold a pen of three, 3 months old British Blue heifers at £485.
