Kirkby Stephen Store Lambs, Tuesday 13th August 2024
Harrison & Hetherington Ltd saw forward a bumper entry of 801 store lambs on offer at Kirkby Stephen on Tuesday evening.
Topping the sale at £134 was a Beltex cross lamb from Messrs Cowperthwaite, Barnard Castle. Messrs Lawson, Buddle House, Richmond sold a pen of ten Texel cross lambs to make £131.50. Messrs Wilkinson, Brackenbank View, Murton sold a pen of ten Texel cross lambs to make £124.50. Mule lambs sold to £113 for a pen of nine from Messrs Thompson, East Unthank Farm, Haltwhistle. A roaring trade for all classes and sizes of store lambs was witnessed here at Kirkby Stephen with a packed ringside of potential buyers ensuring that
a wonderful sale average of £105.09 was achieved.
Plenty more numbers of all types are needed and can be sold at ease to great advantage on a fortnightly basis here at Kirkby Stephen.
