BOCLAIR TOPS WITH LAMBDA MOOVE IT
The Boclair Bright Futures sale featured the best 130 Holsteins from this famous Scottish herd. Prices topped at 6,500gns for a super special heifer from the Eastside Gold Missy cow family with the milking animals averaging close to £3000.
The Boclair herd was established in the 50’s by Jack Brewster, his famous British Friesian lines such as Barbara, Echo, Joan and Vision form the backbone of today’s successful herd. Brothers David and John Brewster now own and manage the herd and have invested in the best genetics over the years that include Roxy, Dellia, Apple, Bonita, Royalty, Elegance and Marie.
Major awards have been plentiful for the Boclair herd, winning the Holstein UK Premier Herd title in 2017 was a major highlight as was their two Master Breeder shields. The accolades have continued in 2024 winning Reserve Champion at the Royal Highland Show and being named as the Champion Scottish Herd this incredible herd will now compete once again for the UK Premier Herd Title.
The Champion heifer from the Lanarkshire Herd Competition, Boclair Lambda Lilyan 2 VG86 2YR opened the sale selling for 4,500gns to the Bryson Family owners of the Whiteflat Holstein herd in Ayrshire. Lilyan’s dam was an Excellent 92 Bandares daughter that produced almost 1200kgs of combined butterfat and protein in her latest lactation. She completes 12 generations going back to Comestar Laurie Shiek.

Boclair Lambda Barbara 12 sold for 5,000gns to Baltier Farms near Newton Stewart. Barbara had an incredible udder that had only been in milk for five weeks and has the potential to compete at National Shows in the future. Her pedigree was stacked with all time great sires including King Doc, Shamrock, Goldwyn and Shottle.
Topping the sale at 6,500gns was Boclair Lambda Moove It who was purchased by the Yates and Lawrie partnership owners of the Logan and Arranview herds. Move It was as close to perfect as a Holstein heifer could be, with a wide powerful deep frame and perfect feet and legs. Her maternal line goes back to an Excellent Dundee sister to Eastside Lewsidale Gold Missy, her Archrival dam was purchased in the 2019 Black & White Sale for 4,000gns from Absolute Genetics.

Boclair Lambda Moove It
Selling for 6,000gns to Andrew and Euan Lawrie owners of Grangehall Holsteins in Lanarkshire was Boclair Lambda Rae. She was bred from 11 generations of Excellent cows going back to Roxy EX97. Other legendary names that appeared in her pedigree were Scientific Debutante Rae and Hanoverhill Tony Rae. Her dam is currently the star at Boclair with her Excellent 93 Silver daughter.

Six heifers all tracing back to KHW Regiment Apple Red featured in the sale to average over £3500 with two selling for 4,000gns. Boclair Rubels Apple Red 4 was purchased by the Boyd family from near Glasgow for 4,000gns, she has several Excellent and Very Good sisters that have been sold to herds throughout the UK and Ireland.

Also selling for 4,000gns was Boclair Ranger Apple Red who was bought by Michael Dixon from Beech House Farm near Wigton. She was bred from an EX92 Jordy sister to the pervious mentioned Rubels.
