Kirkby Stephen Store Lambs, Tuesday 27th August 2024
Harrison & Hetherington Ltd saw forward a bumper entry of 801 store lambs on offer at Kirkby Stephen on Tuesday evening.
Topping the sale at £124 was a pen of ten Beltex cross lamb from Messrs Knowles, Town Foot, Hilton. This home also had pens of Beltex lambs at £112.50
Messrs Boustead, High Lane, Newbiggin on Lune sold Texel cross lambs to £116.
Raby Estates sold pens of thirty-five and eleven Texel lambs to £114.
Suffolk lambs sold to £109 for a pen from Messrs Clark, Bowlees Farm, Middleton in Teesdale.
Mule lambs sold to £105 for a pen of forty-four from Messrs Thompson, East Unthank, Haltwhistle
Horned store lambs sold to £88 for Rough Fells from Messrs Boustead, High Lane.
A flying trade for all classes and sizes of store lambs was witnessed here at Kirkby Stephen with a packed ringside of potential buyers ensuring that a wonderful sale average of £101.49 was achieved.
Plenty more numbers of all types are needed and can be sold at ease to great advantage on a fortnightly basis here at Kirkby Stephen.
