Borderway Calf Sale

On Wednesday 28th of August, Harrison and Hetherington held their sale of calves at Borderway Mart.  Once again a bumper entry of 445 calves through the doors of the leading centre in the North of England.  Sale topped at £590 twice for a 3 month old Simmental bull and a 3 month Angus bull both from Haregills Farming, Ecclesfechan. British Blue bulls sold to £515 twice from Andrew Vance, Portyerrrock, Newton Stewart and RG & MJT Farish, East Farm, Newton Arlosh.  C Horsley Ltd, Whitrigg Grange sold a pen of three 3 month old Angus bulls to £500.  Limousin bulls sold to £490 for a 3 month from G & SE Fox, Windyhill, Hethersgill.  East Scales Ltd, Gretna sold 1 month old British Blue bulls to £480 twice.  Norwegian Red bulls sold to £470 for a 2 month old from Messrs Harrington, Flatt Bank.  Bowe Dairy Farming, Chalk Lodge sold 1 month British Blue bull to £420.  Hereford bulls sold to £420 from Portyerrock, Newton Stewart.

Heifer calves topped at £475 from AJ & JA McKie, Wedholme Hill.  Haregills Farming sold a pen of three Angus heifers to £460.  Limousin heifers topped at £450 from G & SE Fox, Windy Hill.  All classes of calves can be sold here on a weekly basis to sellers advantage.
