Borderway Weaned Cattle Sale

On Wednesday, 28th August Harrison & Hetherington held their weekly sale of weaned cattle.  A total of 284 went under the hammer with plenty of cattle coming forward to suit all.   A strong show of bulls were forward with Mr Clive Knox, Kelso selling a 14 month pure Limousin bull to £1900.  Mr Norman, Little Orton sold a run of six bulls to average £1481.  Messrs Jones, Millom sold a run of 6/7 month Simmental bulls to average £745. 

Steers topped at £1440 from Messrs Ackerley, Henrys Hill whose run of 10 averaged £1165.  Johnny Graham, Laws Hall sold a great consignment of 16 Dairy cross Limousin and British Blue 10/11 month old stirks to average £1015.  Heifers topped at £1550 for a heifer from Eric Norman, Little Orton.  A great day was had with more numbers needed to satisfy demand.
