Store Lamb Show & Sale

On Tuesday 3^rd September Harrison and Hetherington held its show and sale of store lambs in Middleton in Teasdale Market. A total of 1006 store lambs went under the hammer to average £98.51 (+23). A great show of lambs were forward to an increased ringside of buyers from England to Wales. Before the sale however the pre sale show took place. This year the judging was left to Mr Andrew Phillips, Fir Tree Farm who awarded the championship to GP Addison, Hayberries which later went on to sell for £140 selling to the judge. Mules topped at £100.50 for a pen of 24 from JB Fletcher, East Friar House whose run of 207 mules averaged £87.05. Messrs Scott Greenacres sold a fantastic run of 295 Texel mules average £107.23 topping at £127 for a pen of 10. Dutch spotted lambs topped at £120 for a pen of 10 from Nigel and Nicola Foster, Birch Bush whose run of 82 averaged £102.99.
