Borderway Weaned Cattle Sale

On Wednesday, 11^th September Harrison & Hetherington held their weekly sale of weaned cattle.  A smaller show of 229 were forward, however those that came were rewarded with a fantastic trade.  A smaller show of bulls were forward and met a splendid trade throughout.  Topping the bulls went to T  Wigham, Hargill House who saw a single to £1410.  Angus bulls topped at £1290 from AE & E Garnett, Raithill and Beef Shorthorn bulls topped at £1390 from A Graham & Sons, Barnglies.

Steers met a fantastic trade with men looking for all classes.  Topping the sale went to a single steer from D Bewley, Lockerbie whose run of 7 went to average £1368.57.  Limousin steers topped at Messrs Edmondson, Seathwaite selling to £1240.  Blues topped at £1070 for a trio from Messrs Harrington, Sleightholme.  Heifers topped at £1400 for a Simmental again from Mr Bewley, Lockerbie.  Limousin heifers topped at £1390 from John Gibson, Cocklet Hill Farm, Carlisle.  More are needed to satisfy demand .
