Borderway Calf Sale

On Wednesday 11^th September Harrison and Hetherington held their sale of calves at Borderway Mart.  Topping the sale at £665 was a strong Limousin cross from D & M Irving, Brunt Hill.  The same home sold Blue bulls to £660.  T W Martin, Tempest Tower sold a Blue bull to £655 with another 3 at £600.  Messrs Reed, Moss Side House sold  a 4 month  old blue bulls to £630.    Angus bulls topped at £570 from Moss Side House, Wigton,  2 month Simmental bulls sold to £480 from J Forrest & Son, Meinfoot.  Bowe Farming Company, Chalk Lodge sold a pair of 2 month Blue bulls to £470.  MG & S Harper, West House, Dearham sold a 1 month Blue bull to £420.  Holstein bulls were the trade of the day topping at £315 from R E Hodgson, Midtown, Caldbeck.  Heifers topped at £600 for a 4 month old Blue from Messrs Reed, Moss Side House.  Angus Heifers sold to £465 from the same home.  C W Gott, Burton House, Tallentire sold 2 month Blue heifers calves to £410.
