SALE OF STORE CATTLE

STORE CATTLE:   On Wednesday 11^th September 2024 Harrison and Hetherington held their weekly sale of  Store cattle. All classes were a ferocious trade throughout with plenty buyers ringside ensuring vendors leave happy. 4 cattle sold over 2000 to a top of £2120 for a Simmental bullock from Messrs Stewart, Craigour, Moffat. Messrs Irving, Newlands Row Farm, Wigton made the trip to Borderway with store cattle for the first time in 15 years to sell dairy bred Angus bullocks to £2060 a price matched with Charolais from Messrs Kyle, Spoutbank, Walton the final member of the club was Messrs Story, Blackrigg who also sold dairy bred bullocks to £2000. Ken and Ray Irving then led the way in the heifers selling Limousin x Friesians to £1900, a plainer more weathered show was forward that of late, with an overall average of £1417 achieved.
