Mules reign Supreme at Borderway Mule trade heats up
On Thursday 12th September Harrison & Hetherington held its Annual Show and Sale of Mule Shearling Gimmers in Borderway Mart. A total of 1500 went under the hammer to average £222.61 (+£47.38).

Quality sheep sold fantastically well as buyers for near and far were present. Before the sale, the pre-sale show took place with judge Mr Ross Sizmur, Devon, who awarded the Champion rosette to the Harrison family, Sceugh, who later went to sell for £260. The reserve champion went to Messrs Lawson, Hundith who topped the sale at £265. This run of 115 went to average £244.
John Ackerley, Milton Mains, sold a great run of 60 to average £241.83 topping at £260. Messrs Baty, Broomhill, sold a superb run of 201 to average £233.26. Mr Ridley, Harthwaite House sold a cracking pen of 10 to £260. More sheep could have been sold to advantage, with many buyers going away empty handed.
