SALE OF WEANED CATTLE

On Wednesday, 18^th September Harrison & Hetherington held their weekly sale of weaned cattle.  An increased number of 408 weaners were forward with a plainer show being on offer, however all classes sold well.

Messrs Gair, Low House Farm sold the top priced Angus bull for £1800.  Mr Jim Mulholland, Great Orton sold the top priced Limousin bull for £1620.  Messrs Cornthwaite, Ashness Farm, sold the top priced Blue bull for £1420.  Sue Dale-Sunley run of 6 – 8 month old Charolais x bulls topped at £1260 and £1190 (x3) and £1180 (x2).

Messrs Mews, Glendue Farm run of Limousin x bullocks topped at £1380 and £1270.  Mr Hornsby, Laggonmore sold a Saler x Bullock for £1250 and Messrs Glendinning, Over Cassock sold the top priced Angus bullock for £1230.  Messrs Moffat & Partners, Thornby Villa run of Hereford x topped at £1280 for a heifer.  Messrs Wigham, Riggshields sold Limousin x heifers for £1280 (x2).  Wadsworth Farming run of heifers topped at £1280 (x2) for a Limousin x.
