Kirkby Stephen Store lamb Sale

Harrison & Hetherington Ltd Kirkby Stephen held their fortnightly sale of store lambs when a catalogued entry of 1,464 were on offer. 

Topping the sale at £182 was the first prize pen of ten Beltex cross lamb from Messrs Beveridge, Low West House Farm, Bishop Auckland, this home also had pens to £162, £161 and £160 and a further ten pens selling over £150, with the fantastic consignment of 231 Beltex and Texel store lambs from this home selling to average £141.87.

Messrs Brown, Catherine Holme, Great Asby sold a pair of Beltex lambs to £158.

Messrs Marston, Easegill Head, Kirkby Stephen sold Beltex cross lambs to £156 with this home topping the Texel lambs at £139.

Messrs Bayles, Haithwaite sold a pen of Beltex cross to make £154.

23 pens of lambs sold between £140 and £182

80 pens and 328 lambs sold between £130 and £182.

889 Beltex cross store lambs sold to average a whopping £124.07, with an overall sale average for all breeds of £112.06 being achieved!

Plenty more numbers of all types are needed and can be sold at ease to great advantage on a fortnightly basis here at Kirkby Stephen.
