Borderway Calf Sale

On Wednesday 25^th September Harrison and Hetherington held their sale of calves at Borderway Mart.  Topping the sale was an outstanding 3 month Blue bullock from Messrs Beard, Dormansteads selling for £635.  David Reed, Moss Side House sold a solid 4 month Blue bull to £600 with many stronger bulls cashing at over £500 today.  Limousin bulls topped at £585 for a 3 month from JW & VI Naylor, Hill Green, Drigg.  KJ & CS Wilson, Wood Farm, sold a 3 month Blue bull to £580 and 2 month Blue heifers to £440.  T & J Airey, New Grange sold a pair of 3 month old Angus bulls to £550

Heifers topped at £560 for a Charolais x from Paul Stobart, The Square, Kirklinton.  Blue heifers sold to £550 for a 3 month old form Messrs Reed, Moss Side House.  Limousin heifers sold to £510 and £500 from G & SE Fox, Windy Hill, Hethersgill.  2 month Blue bulls sold to £535 twice from W & D Threlkeld, Ladywells and J & D Martin, Boggle Hall.  1 month Blue bulls sold to £525 from E A Sherwen, Greenmoor side, Seascale.  Hereford Bulls topped at £390 from Messrs Greenup, Cross Hill.  1 month old Limousin heifers sold to £400 from J Marshall & Son, Brownrigg. 

A strong ringside of buyers was witnessed today and many more could have been sold.
