North Country Cheviot Female Sale

At Lockerbie on Tuesday 24^th September, Harrison & Hetherington Ltd, held the annual sale of North Country Cheviot Hill females. A phenomenal trade was achieved across the board, selling more on the year and draft ewes averaging £182.92 up £30.09 on the year.

Topping the ewe section was Messrs WD Allen, Stoophill with a pen of regular drafts which sold to £242 to Mrs C Lewis, Brynowen.

Gimmers average £219.35 up £11.52 on the year selling to £295 from Messrs RJ Tweedie, Buchtrig to Messrs Sevenoaks, Abergavenny and to £290 from Messrs Flintoff, Cocklawfoot to Mr Meiklem & Sons, Kelty.

Ewe lambs sold to average £122.55 back £5.52 on the year, topping this section at £380 were Messrs Allen, Stoophill, Alnwick.
