On Wednesday 2^nd October Harrison and Hetherington held their sale of calves at Borderway Mart. 

Another great entry of 414 calves with a more weathered show forward, saw well bred sorts still in great demand.

The sale topped at £840 for an outstanding pair of suckler bred Limousin bulls from AG Dempster, Castlehill, Tundergarth. Charolais bulls topped at £660 for a tremendous 3 month old from KJ & M sharp, Wolsty Hall. British Blue culls to £595 from MJL Simpson & son, Waingate Head, Kirklinton. DJ Livingstone, Kirtle Vale sold a 3 month old Limosuin bull to £560, East Scales Ltd and Reay Farming both sold a 2 month old British Blue bull to £470. D Hyslop, Meinside sold a pair of 2 month old Simmental bulls to £440. Montbeliarde bulls to £430 for a 3 month old from JP & GJ Simpson, Knock Cross, Appleby.

Heifer calves topped at £600 for a 3 month old British Blue from Kirtlevale, Gretna. TW Martin, Tempest Tower sold a pair of 3 month British Blue heifers to £470. Limousin heifers sold to £470 from Messrs WM Sloan & Co, Ryemuir, Lochmaben. Three month old Charolais heifers sold to £420 from KJ & M Sharp, Wolsty Hall.
