‘All classes were good to sell with the stronger end and longer keep lambs selling sharper on the week’

On Monday 14^th October Harrison & Hetherington held their sale of Breeding Sheep and store lambs, which had a total of 1286 forward.

Breeding rams topped at £650 for a Texel shearling from regular consignors of quality GJ Toppin, Basco Dyke, Armathwaite.

Breeding ewes sold to £210 for a Texel cross Mule shearlings from RE Carruthers, Rawfoot, Brampton.

Texel cross ewe lambs sold to £119 from Messrs Vevers & Charnock, Woodhead, Dumfries.

Store lambs were a great trade again with a strong enquiry of buyers topping at £160 for a Beltex from H Gardhouse, Cowgate, Silloth. BJ & SD Johnston, Nelson Hill Farm sold a smart pair of Blue Texels for £150. Messrs Rutter, Fartown sold a pair of big, framed Texel cross Mules to £130. Suffolk cross lambs topped at £127 from R & E Norman & Sons, The Bow. Cheviot Mule lambs to £106 from AJ Dalgleish, Thorniethwaite. Strong Mule lambs were a flying trade topping at £98 from TP Wigham, Hargill House.
