Borderway Calf Sale

On Wednesday 16th October Harrison and Hetherington held their weekly sale of calves where young calves saw a hot trade all day with plainer sorts of weaned calves being slightly harder placed.

Todays trading saw calves top at £655 from Messrs Livingstone, Kirtlevale, Dumfries for a 2 month old Limousin x calf.  Messrs Nash, Philgowan, Newton Stewart was up to £590 for a lovely 2 month old Simmental calf.  Messrs Livingstone was also up to £585 for another Limousin bull calf and blue calves topped at £580 for 2 month old calf from Messrs Pattinson, Kinkry Hill.  Black and whites topped at £330 from Messrs Vance, Low Barledziew, Newton Stewart.  Jersey bulls topped at £235 from Messrs Rome, Ingleston, Dumfries.

In the heifer section Limousins topped at £540 from Messrs Roan, Boreland, of Colvend, Dalbeattie and Blue heifers topped at £505 from Messrs Elwen, Netherfield.  Messrs Ramsey, Lodge of Kelton, Castle Douglas topped at £475 for Angus heifers.
