A good offering of 472 store cattle forward at Borderways weekly sale whereby all classes would be the sharpest trade seen for the last 4 weeks. Topping the days trading at £2130 was a single Aberdeen Angus cross steer from Messrs Ivinson, Whinclose, Wigton. Limousins to £1920 from Messrs Magnay, Greenwrae, Gretna and Montbéliard’s to £1870 from the same home British Blue crosses to £1850 from dairy farmers Messrs Story, Blackrigg, Longtown. Beef Shorthorns to £1840 from Messrs Robinson, Rowell, Milnthrope. Charolais to £1790 for two crosses from Messrs Fisher, Laidlaugh, Castle Douglas and Blonde crosses to £1680 from Messrs Forrester, Cobble Hall, Penrith. Heifers sold to £1780 twice firstly by Messrs Pearson, The Faulds, Wigton with a Limousin cross and secondly by Messrs Robinson, Rowell with an Aberdeen Angus. British Blues to £1750 from Messrs Slack, Cockley Bank, Brampton. Herefords to £1560 from Powell Farm and Charolais to £1520from Messrs Brough, Clappers Farm Wigton.
