On Wednesday, 6th November Harrison & Hetherington held their weekly sale of weaned bulls and weaners. A larger show of 431 were forward to a much improved trade on the week with buyers travelling from all over the UK to purchase weaned cattle. Bulls went on to average £1018.21 with top price coming from R & M Scott, Thirlwall Castle selling to £1600. Steers topped at the same price for a Limousin steer from W Hughes & Son, Asby whose run of 15 averaged £1424.67. Heifers topped at £1480 from Messrs Brown, Willows Farm. Messrs Furlong sold a superb run of 26 seven and eight month old Limousin suckler calves that went on to average £1135. Cumrue Farms sold 45 Dairy Hereford heifer calves to average £515.
