Borderway Calf Sale

On Wednesday 20^th November Harrison and Hetherington held their weekly sale of calves. 

Todays trading saw a smaller entry of calves forward but met with a seriously Firey trade.

Bulls 124 averaged 342

Heifers 115 averaged 275

Black & Whites 44 averaged 154

Todays top price goes to Messrs Airey,  New grange Farm topping the bulls at £590 for Angus calves at 2 months of age . Blues and Charolais were high in demand with Charolais bulls topping at £590 from Messrs Sharp,  Wolsty and Blue calves to £580 from Messrs Peile,  Moorthwaite Farm. Limousins saw a top price of £510 from Messrs Horsley,  Whitrigg  Grange.  Black and whites topped at £380 from Ling Dairies Ltd.

Heifers met a pleasing trade albeit youngest Angus heifers being a lot harder to place. Angus heifers topped at £540 from Messrs Horsley,  Whitrigg, and British Blue heifers topped at £430 from Messrs Osborne,  Cowlane. Limousin heifers met a pleasing trade topping at £460 from Messrs Horsley Ltd.
