SALE OF STORE CATTLE

On Wednesday 20th November 2024 Harrison & Hetherington’s held their weekly sale with an excellent entry of 550 store cattle forward at Borderway, whereby a trade like it has never been seen before, all in all an outstanding average of £1483.99 was achieved. New heights of £2360 was achieved by Messrs Robinson, Gelt Hall, Brampton, selling a Beef Shorthorn steer, with their 8 steers and heifers averaging £2043.75. Limousins sold to £2250 for Messrs Magnay, Greenwrae, Gretna, dairy bred Charolais crosses to £1980 for Messrs Holliday, Kirkbampton, Wigton. Belted Galloways to £1850 for a pen of 3 pure breds from Messrs MacGillvray, Foxfield and British Blue crosses to £1840 for a pen of 3 from Messrs Rudd, Grassings, Wigton.
Heifers sold to a top of £1910 for a Limousin cross from Messrs Bowman, Croft House, Penrith, and another to £1880 for Northern Trading Cumbria Ltd, Penrith. Messrs Hebson, Chapel Farm, sold a Charolais to £1790 and Beef Shorthorn crosses to £1760 for Messrs Robinson, Gelt Hall, Brampton.
