On Monday 25^th November Harrison and Hetherington held their weekly sale of store lambs. 

Store and Breeding Sheep saw a good entry of 661 store lambs averaging £101/head. A firey trade was witnessed for all shapes and sizes. Messrs Beveridge, Low West House, Tow Law, caught the H&H bug when he sold a pen of Beltex crosses to top at £154, with their outstanding run of 42 lambs averaging £134.71.

R & E Norman & Sons, The Bow, sold a paid of Beltex crosses to £148. Texels sold to £146 from Michael Benson, Longthwaite Villa, Wigton. Suffolks topped at £136 from Messrs Maughan, Beck Farm, Armathwaite. W & N Donald, The Beeches, Lamonby, sold a smart pen of 10 Texel crosses to £127. Mules sold to £120 from Alan Edmondson, Bully House, Cockermouth. N & BM Ireland, New House made the worthwhile journey from West Cumbria, selling a pen of 48 Texel crosses to £119. Hill Cheviots sold to £107 from G H Teasdale, Doddick, Keswick. JT James, Mid Todhills, Roadhead, sold a pen of 30 long keep Mule lambs to £98, with many people describing this week’s store lamb trade as the dearest seen this season.

The Borderway Boom goes from strength to strength, with more numbers required for next week.
