Borderway Calf Sale

Harrison & Hetherington held their weekly sale of calves with the calf ring packed with purchasers to the extent you could hardly move.  £660 was achieved on three occasions.

Top price bull calves today were all three and half months of age, Messrs Irving achieved £660 twice for Limousin bulls and Messrs Elwen, Netherfield had a whopper of a British Blue bull at £660 also.  Regular Dumfriesshire consignor Messrs Wadsworth, Big Balcraig topped the Angus section at £595, while Herefords topped at £410 from Raven Ltd, Crookdale.  Black and whites were in high demand topping at £360 from How End Farm, and Ayrshire bulls topped at £290 from Messrs Baynes, Marleycote.

British Blue heifers topped at £530 from Messrs Greenup, Crosshill and this home also topped with Angus at £500.  Messrs Carlyle, Bleaberry sold a Limousin to £410.
