Kirkby Stephen OTM and Cast Cow Sale

Harrison & Hetherington Ltd, Kirkby Stephen Mart held their Christmas Prize Show and Sale of Cast and OTM cattle

The sale topped at £1829.10 for a Limousin cross cow which weighed 780kg and made 234.5p/kg selling to David Barker, Scarborough.

Topping at 246.5p/kg was a 660kg Limousin cross cow which totalled £1626.90 from Messrs Wood, Woodside, Barnard Castle also selling to David Barker.

Messrs Maughan, Ash Garth, Great Asby sold 730kg Limousin cow to make £1784.85 (244.5p/kg).

Messrs Hayton, Asby Grange sold a ten year old 779kg Limousin cow to make 227.5p/kg and totalling £1772.23 and a 728kg British Blue cow to make 239.5p/kg totalling £1743.56.

Dairy Cows topped at £1592.01 for a 882kg Holstein Frisian cow from Messrs Sowerby, Town Head Farm, Appleby.

Messrs Sowerby, Town Head also topped the dairy pence per kilo at 182.5p for a 700kg Holstein cow selling to £1277.50.

The next sale of cast and feeding cows at Kirkby Stephen will be on Monday 6^th January.
