Borderway Calf Sale

Harrison and Hetherington sold 291 calves at their final sale of 2024.  We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our vendors and purchasers for their continued support over the last year and wish them a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Trade was absolutely on fire with every vendor leaving delighted with their days trading,

Every class of calf were sharper on the week.  Topping the sale at £750 was a strong black Limousin bull calf from A & AE Harrison, Round Hill, Wigton, the same good home sold another Limousin bull to £720, a British Blue to £635, they also topped the heifer section with a British Blue cross selling for £610.  British Blue bulls topped at £695 for a pair from Messrs Hastwell, The Buildings, Kaber, Kirkby Stephen,  Messrs Beard, Dormanstead, Roweltown sold 3 month British Blues and Angus bulls to £660.  Messrs Reed, Moss Side House, Wigton sold a 3 month British Blue bull to £660.  G & SE Fox, Windyhill sold 3 month Limousin bulls to £595.  R T Pattinson, Kinkry Hill sold an outstanding one month old blue bull to £560.  IT & EM Carlyle, Bleaberry Rigg sold a 2 month Limousin bull to £560.  Low Wood Dairy Co, Warwick Bridge sold 1 month Blue bulls to £555.  2 month Angus bulls sold to £505 from R Pigg & Son, Gaitsgill Hall, Dalston.  Norwegian Red Bulls sold to £470 from A V Elwen, Netherfield, Irthington.  A V Elwen, Netherfield sold a pair of British  Blue heifers calves to £570.  2 month Limousin heifers sold to £560 from Bleaberry Rigg,  2 month Blue heifers sold to £480 for a pen of 3 from Tempest Tower, Little Orton.  J G Gardhouse Ltd, Nook House sold a 1 month Blue heifer to £430.  2 Month Hereford heifers sold to £410 from Gaitsgill Hall.
