Borderway Calf Sale

On Wednesday 7^th April Harrison & Hetherington held its weekly sale of calves.  A smaller quality show of 286 were forward and were once again a great trade throughout.  Topping the sale was a pair of British Blue calves from Messrs Wadsworth, Big Balcraig selling for £615 with his run of 10 averaging £565.  Dairy bred calves were in serious demand topping at £260 were a pair of 8 week Holsteins Friesian from Messrs McKie, Wedholme Hill, Wigton.  A sale highlight came from Messrs Horsley, Whitrigg Grange, Wigton selling a pen of three 8 week old Angus bulls for £545.
