Kirkby Stephen OTM and Cast Cow Sale

Harrison & Hetherington Ltd, Kirkby Stephen Mart held their fortnightly Sale of cast and OTM cattle.

Topping the sale at £2550.37 was a 866kg British Blue bull which made 294.5p from Messrs Hayton & son, Asby Grange.

Topping at 333.5p/kg was a 629kg Limousin cross cow which came to £2097.72 from Messrs Slack, Stoneriggs, Hilton.

Messrs Pedley, Oaktree Farm, Barbon sold a 7 year old British Blue cross cow weighing 824kg to make 263.5p totalling £2171.24.

Black and white cows sold to 193.5p/kg for a Holstein from Messrs Chippendale, Wharton Hall.

Messrs Ellis, Langford, Warcop sold a Friesian cow to make 190.5p/kg.

British Blue cross cows sold to average a whopping £1798.50 236.5p/kg with a complete sale average for all breeds included 223.59p/kg and £1508.65 per head. With all classes been short of extreme demand and short for buyers requirements.

The next sale of cast cows at Kirkby Stephen will be on Monday 20^th January.
