Carry House sells to a new record price of 15,000gns

The entire female portion from the Carry House flock of RD Archer & Son, from Wark, Hexham went under the hammer at Borderway Mart.

Leading the sale at 15,000gns was a 1 crop ewe by Carry House Ronaldo out of a homebred Midlock G34 daughter. She sold carrying twins to the £28,000 Ballytober Hijack S1 to the Steel flock of J Hunter & Sons, Hexham.

The next best was a gimmer, sired by Spurrigg P2, she bred the 7000gns ewe hogg and sold t for 11,000gns to Messrs Forbes, Perthshire.

A Farden Popeye daughter attained the next hit at 10,000gns, to local breeder Neil Marston, Highberries flock. She won Interbreed Champion at Gilsland show in 2022 and the Roman Wall show in 2023 and sold carrying triplets to Carry House Ronaldo.

The Happrew flock, Peeblesshire purchased a 9000gn gimmer, a daughter of Carry House Ronaldo and carrying a single to Ballytober Hijack.

Making 8000gns was a 2021 born ewe by Carry House Jackpot, she sold carrying triplets to Ballytober Hijack, who sold to Messrs Pirie, Blarnavaid Farm.

At the same money a 2022 born Ronaldo daughters sold in lamb again to Ballytober Hijack to Messrs Pye, Lancaster.

A Midlock Magic daughter tops the ewe lamb section at 7000gns, out of a Spurrigg P2 ewe to Messrs Shennan, Farden.

A trio fetched the next best at 6500gns, firstly a 1 crop Farden Popeye daughter to Chris Pears, Caldbeck, next a ewe lamb by Midlock Magic to Messrs Thompson, Barnard Castle and finally another Midlock Magic ewe lamb to Messrs porter, The Riddings.
