Harrison & Hetherington Ltd, Kirkby Stephen Mart held their weekly Sale of Prime Sheep on when 3389 sheep were forward comprising of 2851 hoggs and 538 cast sheep.

Topping the sale at £228 where a pair of 65kg Texel hoggs from Messrs Bainbridge, Laneside, Barnard Castle. This home also sold a pen of three 63kg Texel hoggs from to make £222.

Topping at 538.5p/kg where 39kg Rouge cross hoggs which sold for £210 from Messrs Fell, Chapel Farm, Keswick. With this home also selling a pen of twenty 39kg Rouge cross hoggs to make £194 (497.4p/kg) and a pen of three 38kg Dutch Texel cross hoggs to make £191 (502.6p/kg).

Messrs Simpson, Highscale Farm, Wigglesworth sold a pen of eight 38kg Beltex cross hoggs to make £200 (526.3p/kg), a pen of fourteen 40kg at £208 (520p/kg), a pen of nine 39kg at £200 (512.8p/kg), a pen of six 40kg at £205 (512.5p/kg) and 45kg making £216.

The consignment of 66 hoggs from Highscale Farm sold to average 39.8kg, £195.89, (492.5p/kg).

Messrs Skelton, Low House, Maryport sold a pen of six 39kg Beltex cross hoggs to make £204 (523.1p/kg) with a pen of seven 38kg making £196.50 (517.1p/kg). And a pen of ten 39kg making £198 (507.7p/kg).

Messrs Wills, Fawcett Park Farm, Dufton sold a pen of 41kg Beltex cross hoggs to make £209 (509.8p/kg).

Messrs Raine, West Lea, Appleby sold a pen of 37kg hoggs to make £190 (513.5p/kg).

Messrs Eddleston, Great Harwood sold a pen of thirteen 37kg hoggs to make £188 (508.1p/kg), with 42kg making £202 from this home.

Blackfaced hoggs topped at 350p/kg for a pen of six 40kg which made £140 from Messrs Willaims, Adamthwaite, Ravenstonedale.

Messrs Stirke, Snowfield Farm, York sold a pen of eleven 45kg Blackfaced Hoggs to make £148.50

Swaledale hoggs sold to £140 for a pen of twenty one 46kg from Messrs Stirke, York with this home also selling a pen of nineteen 44kg Swaledale hoggs to make £136.50 (310.2p/kg).
