At Broughton Mart on Tuesday 21st April Harrison & Hetherington held their annual “April Fair” show & sale store cattle.
A huge show of 455 store cattle were on offer at the Annual April Fair show and sale which attracted a large attendance for buyer ensuring a fantastic trade for all.
The pre sale show was kindly judged by Mr James Crichton, Egremont who awarded the following prizes:

Taking the championship rosette and first prize Continental steer was Messrs Hoggarth, Old Hall with a Limousin selling to £1460.
Anthony Hartley, Turner Hall took the Reserve ticket with his first prize heifer a Limousin selling to £1320. Anthony’s run of 30 Limousin average £1202 (up £220.02 on the year) for a consignment of 10-11 month old cattle.
Out with the show cattle, Messrs SW & A Hoggarth, Far Kiln Bank, had a run of 20 dairy bred bullock and heifers (13-20 month olds) averaging £1200.25.
