Borderway Calf Sale

On Wednesday 29th January Harrison and Hetherington held their weekly sale of Calves with 262 forward.  Trade continued to be on the same high levels as previous weeks with a more mixed offering on sale.

Topping trade today was a tremendous Limousin 2 month cross bull calf from JB Capstick & Sons, Duckintree Farm selling to £730.  British Blues bulls sold to £720 from Messrs Reed, Moss Side House.  Messrs Hastwell, The Buildings sold Angus bull calves to £680 with others to £645.  Messrs Greenup, Crosshill had Blue bull calves at £675.

Heifers calves sold to £640 from Messrs Reed, Moss Side House for a British Blue with others to £625 from Messrs Baxters Park House.  Limousin heifers sold to £620 from J & D Martin, Boggle Hall with next best at £570 from J B Capstick & Sons.  MG & S Harper sold two Blue heifers to £580 with T W Martin, Tempest Towers also selling at that price.  Angus heifers sold to £505 from Evening Hill Ltd, with others from the same home to £480 (x3).  Charolais heifers sold to £460 from SJ & JE Ogden, Pears Ghyll.

Black and whites sold to £365 from Andrew Greer, Kirkcolm with this home also selling at £300 (x2).  T & C Halliday, Broathill sold to £350.  Evening Hill Farm Ltd sold to £325 (x3).
