On Wednesday 29th January, Harrison and Hetherington held their weekly sale of store bulls and weaners.
The weekly sale had another huge show of 447 forward, sold to average £1067.
A large show of 130 bulls were present, with a much plainer and young show on offer. Bulls topped at £2500 for a 19m old from Laura Ervine. Limousin bulls topped at £1940 from N & K Gill, Moorley Lea. Aberdeen Angus bulls to £1150 for a pen of 10 from Messrs Fearon, Low Scales who sold 22 8/9m olds to average £1075.
Heifers peaked at £1890 from JE Lancaster, Fell View, whose run of 4 averaged £1680. Messrs Lamb, High Troweir sold 31 6/7m old Limousin steers and heifers to average £1100. Messrs Cowx, Hudscales sold 7 8m old Limousin steers and heifers to average £1490. Steers topped at £1640 from Messrs Bid, High Wreay for a 14 month old Limousin steer, their run of 8 averaged £1458.75.
