Borderway Store and Breeding Sheep Sale

On Monday 3^rd February, Harrison and Hetherington held their weekly sale of store lambs and in lamb sheep in Borderway Mart.  A small yet quality consignment of 10 in-lamb Beltex Shearlings from Tom Howard, Lees Hall sold to £255 for a pair and averaged £234.

Store hoggs again hit unprecedented levels of demand with over 30 pens selling in excess of £120/head. Topping the sale at £152 was a smart pen of 7 Millenium Bleu ewe lambs from JW & AM Little, The Close, Hethersgill.
MS & HJ Armstrong, Town Head, Walton, sold a smart pen of 5 Dutch Texels to £150. AJ & A Mackintosh, Home Farm, Muncaster, sold a pen of Texel x Lleyns to £149. Texel crosses sold to £140 from R & E Norman, The Bow. Suffolks sold to £138 from Dan Charnock, Millholme. G Wilson, Reddings, sold a pen of Hill Cheviots to £128. Mules sold to £115 from DE & DR Ewart & Son, Nunfield. Ryelands sold to £114 from D Campbell, Kirkford, Stranraer.

Messrs Lamb, High Troweir, sold a pen of 21 Hill Cheviots to £110.

All classes of store hoggs can be sold here at Borderway on a weekly basis to vendor advantage with notable premiums for Hill Bred lambs at this time of year.
