Kirkby Stephen OTM and Cast Cow Sale

Harrison & Hetherington Ltd, Kirkby Stephen Mart held their fortnightly Sale of cast and OTM cattle.

Topping the sale £2544.14 was a fifteen year old Limousin cross cow which weighed 907kg and sold for 280.5p/kg from Messrs Birbeck, High Stennerskeugh, Ravenstonedale and was purchased by W Barker, Scarborough.

Topping at 293.5p/kg was a five year old Limousin cross cow from Messrs Tarn, Step Ends Farm, Middleton in Teesdale.

Messrs Marston, Easegill Head, Kirkby Stephen sold a six year old Limousin cross cow weighing 762kg to make 289.5p/kg and £2205.99.

Swedish Red over thirty months sold to 287.5p/kg and £2061.38 for a 717kg cow from Messrs Marson, South View, Winton.

Messrs Beck, Townfoot, Tebay sold a five year old Friesian cow weighing 733kg to make 199.5p/kg (£1462.34).

Trade for all classes of beef and dairy cows was off the clock and dearest seen to date here at Kirkby Stephen!

An overall sale average of 238.45p/kg and £1640.70 was achieved!!

The next sale of cast cows at Kirkby Stephen will be held on Monday 17^th February.
