SALE OF WEANED CATTLE
WEDNESDAY 5th FEBRUARY 2025
On Wednesday 5th February, Harrison and Hetherington held their weekly sale of store bulls and weaners. A total of 370 were forward which this week included a special sale for bulls where there was 159 forward which is one of the biggest shows seen in recent times averaging £1247.48. the sale was topped by a pedigree Limousin from WM Dick & Son, Stirling selling a 14month bull to £2200 this run of 17 went on to average £1865.88. J & HD Langcake, Bassenthwaite sold 8 10/11 month old British Blue Bulls to average £1700. Stirks once again were met with a superb trade with 210 going on to average £1186. Streers topped at £1610 from Upper Burnmouth Partnership for a 12 month old steer. Messrs Beaty, Newtonfield sold 19 Aberdeen Angus and British Blue steers and heifers to average £1475.26. Heifers topped at £1820 for a Limousin heifer from J & E Pattinson, Bonshawside whose run of 4 averaged £1665 for 8 month olds. Messrs Coulthard, Justicetown sold 6 British Blue Heifers averaged £1516.67. a total sale average of £1209.24 which would be the dearest trade witnessed in Borderways Weaned Cattle Ring.
