On Wednesday 5^th February Harrison and Hetherington held their weekly sale of Calves. A larger show sold to extreme rates with more actively required to fulfil buyer demand. Farm gate prices can easily be eclipsed.

Today’s trade topped at £780 for an Aberdeen Angus bull from JB Sloan, Panlands. The same home also sold Aberdeen Angus bulls to £620. British Blue bulls sold to £740 for a 3 month old from RG & MJJ Farish, East Farm. D & M Irving Farming also sold British Blue bulls to £725 with TW Martin, Tempest Tower selling a pair of the same article at 3 month old to £715. One month old British Blue bull sold to £580 from J Bailey, Moorhouse with the same home also selling 1 month old at £565.

RG & MJJ Farish also sold an Aberdeen Angus bulls to £720. T & R Ramsay, Lodge of Kelton selling 4 Aberdeen Angus bulls to £705. GW & M Richardson, Bedrule also sold to £705 for an Angus bull. McNabney Bros , Barsalloch sold 2 Simmental bulls to £710. Limousin bulls sold to £635 from D & M Irving Farming with others to £620 from GW & M Richardson, Bedrule. R & S McKie, Stoneybrook sold a pair of 2 month old Limousin bulls to £600. Hereford bulls sold to £600 from GW & M Richardson, Bedrule with 2 months at £550 from R & S McKie, Stoneybrook

Heifers topped at £710 for a pair of Aberdeen Angus’s from GW & M Richardson, Bedrule. British Blue heifers to £680 from D & M Irving Farming. J Bailey, Moorhouse Hall sold 2 month old British Blues to £550. Main Faming sold 2 month old British Blue heifers to £525. IT & EM Carlyle, Beaberry Rigg sold a 2 month old Limousin heifer for £605. A & D Bell, Mossband Hall sold a Charolais heifer at 2 months to £540. JB Sloan, Panlands Farm sold a pair of Aberdeen Angus heifers to £675. 3 month old Simmental heifers sold to £450 from Mein Farming Company. A pair of 1 month old Blue heifers sold to £420 from RG & MJJ Farish. A 3 month old Saler heifer sold to £405 from GL Armstrong & Son.

Brown Swiss bulls topped the dairy section at £680 from Reay Farming. JB Sloan, Panlands sold Black and white to £540. A 1 month old Montbelairde sold to £520 from RG & MJT Farish. Six Holsteins sold to £385 for 3 month olds from How End Farms.
