Borderway Calf Sale

On Wednesday 28th April Harrison & Hetherington held its weekly sale of calves with an entry of 367 forward.  A simply superb trade was witnessed with all classes of calves being fiercely bid for from start to finish.  Topping the sale was regular vendor G & SE Fox, Windy Hill who sold a Limousin bull at 12 weeks of age at £570.  British Blues topped at £555 from Turnbull Farming, Penrith whose run of 6 averaged an astonishing £500 at 6 weeks.  Dairy calves were once again met with an excellent trade with the top price for a pair of Montbeliardes at £375 from Messrs Mellin, Moffat.  A total of 87 Holstein Friesians levelled at £150.92.  Borderway is continuing to attract large numbers on a weekly basis and has over 50 active buyers looking for calves.
