Borderway Store and Breeding Sheep Sale

On Monday 24th February, Harrison and Hetherington held their weekly sale of store lambs and breeding sheep with 424 head for sale.  Breeding sheep sold to £140/life for a Suffolk ewe with twin Texel cross lambs at foot from JS & JA Bird, High Wreay.  In lamb ewes sold to £210 for a pen of 11 and a pen of 15 Regular aged Scotch Mules Ewes in lamb to the Texel from John Crawford, Galdenoch, Newton Stewart.

Store Hoggs were a mixed show for quality yet were a flying trade once again averaging £117/head.  Topping at £166 for a Beltex cross from JM & SM Priestley, Cracrop.  Maxwell Farming, Druidhall sold a pair of Texels to £158. Dutch Texels sold to £154 from EM Johnstone, Springfield.  A & J Campbell, Carsewalloch sold a pen of 4 Beltex to £152.  Berrichon Hoggs sold to £142 from Messrs Robinson, Gelt Hall.  Cheviot Mules sold to £140 from Druidhall.  Mules sold to £124 for a pen of 30 from Messrs Gate, Low House, Cockermouth.
