On Wednesday 26th February Harrison & Hetherington held their weekly sale of store cattle which attracted another fantastic entry of 528 head, trade seems to know no boundaries as yet again returns jumped with many cattle more than £100 ahead of last week to level at £1928.55. Bullocks averaged £2001.16 and sold to £2700 for a Limousin bullock from Messrs Story, Tinnis Hall with 164 cattle trading at or over £2000 this week, it was once again the plainer cattle which looked far and away the dearest with cattle at £1800-1900 that really have no business being there. Heifers averaged £1843.21 sold to £2520 for a Limousin from Messrs Dobson and Son, East View who also topped the native cattle at £2520 with an Angus bullock. Young cattle sold well again with a top of £2440 for Limousin cross heifers from Messrs Laird, Unity Farm. Dairy bullocks sold to £2100 for Montbelairde bullocks from Messrs Magnay, Greenwrae, Gretna.
