Harrison & Hetherington had an entry 1228 cattle at their weekly sale comprising of a catalogued entry of 864 Store Cattle, 237 Un-entered store bulls and weanlings, 339 Calves and 186 Dairy cattle in the monthly Borderway Dairy Day.
STORE CATTLE – Another bumper show of cattle in Borderway from all corners of the UK. New vendors are a constant feature week on week with all keen to return for another bite of the cherry. Topping the sale this week was a splendid Limousin bullock from regular supporters TB Stamper & Son, Rose Farm, Cockermouth. Heifers topped at £1650, this was paid for a stunning Limousin consigned by Kallum Hunt, Braithwaite Shields, Penrith. Native cattle sold t £1500 for a great pair of Angus bullocks shown by Messrs Robinson, Rowell Farm who made the trip up from Milnthorpe, Kendal. Dairy bullocks sold to £1390 for a monster Holstein from I & K Watson, Howrigg, Wigton. Clive Goulsbra and Fran Graves made the long trip north from Louth, Lincolnshire with an outstanding run of yearling bullocks and heifers which saw a top of £1295 for a peach of a Limousin.

WEANED CATTLE: A good entry of 237 weanlings were on offer to an increased number of buyers which ensured a much sharper trade throughout. Messrs Burrows, Lodge Farm, sold a British Blue bull for £1380. Messrs Athey & Son, High Lovelady Shields sold the top priced Limousin bull from £1200. Messrs Ewart, Stone House sold an Angus heifer for £1130. Messrs Dent, Beamwham run of outstanding cattle topped at £1080 for a Limousin x heifer and two Limousin x bullocks for £970.
