Borderway Calf Sale

On Wednesday 12^th March Harrison and Hetherington held their weekly sale of Calves with 350 forward.  New heights were reached today at our weekly sale with 11 calves selling over £800 and 32 over £700.  Todays trade topped at £860 for a tremendous British Blue Bull from Wadsworth Farming Ltd.  They also sold two at £850, an Angus at £830 and another at £800.  MC & A Elliot, Brackenhow sold a British Blue Bull at £860.  DJ Livingstone, Kirtlevale sold a fantastic Limousin bull calf at £850.  T W Martin, Tempest Tower sold a Blue at £810 and also another at £800.  Ellaway Ltd, Elephant Farm also sold to £805.

Heifers sold to £700 for a 3 month old Angus from J J Henderson & Son, Park House.  Holland Farm,  sold a 3 month old Blue to £680.  Kingsberk Ltd, Culter Allers sold a Blue to £680.  J J Henderson sold 3 Herefords to £660.  Turnbull Farming sold a 2 month Blue to £650.  Beef Shorthorns sold to £650 for 4 from Messrs Ashley, Laitha Farm.

Black and whites sold to £470 for a Friesian from Castlesteads Farm, Penrith.  Ellaway Ltd, Elephant Farm sold 3 Holstein to £450.  They also sold two to £430.  J Sewell, Mayfield sold a Holstein to £400.
